How does the Cabcharge eTicket work?

Using the eTicket is straightforward for the traveller and even simpler for you. Once you issue the card through Cabcharge+, there’s nothing more to organise on your end. The traveller just needs to confirm the taxi accepts Cabcharge before the trip begins. Here’s what happens from there:

Issue the card: Order your eTickets through Cabcharge+ and hand one to the person travelling before the trip begins.
Board any Cabcharge payment-enabled taxi: The eTicket is accepted across a range of taxi service operators in every state and territory.
Pay at drop-off: At the end of the trip, the traveller taps the eTicket on the in-taxi payment terminal for a contactless single trip payment.
Tear and keep: The eTicket tears along the perforation. The traveller keeps the passenger stub and leaves the larger portion with the driver.
Trip recorded automatically: The fare appears in your Cabcharge+ account in real time with no manual entry needed.

Before passing the eTicket on, give the traveller a few quick tips. The card should not be torn until the trip is over, and it needs to stay dry and flat so the contactless chip keeps working. If it gets lost or stolen, cancel it straight away through Card Management in Cabcharge+.

How to Use Cabcharge eTicket?

Ensure the taxi accepts Cabcharge before the trip begins.

At the end of the trip, the fare will be displayed on the meter.

Tap eTICKET: Tap the eTICKET on the payment terminal.
Tear eTICKET: Tear along the perforation – keep the small portion and leave the large potion with the driver.
Get a Receipt: Ask the driver for a receipt.

Important notes on eTicket

Do not tear the eTicket before use.
After the trip ensure the eTicket is torn along the perforation.
Advise users that eTicket is for a single trip only.
Keep Passenger record stub and receipt.
Please refrain from moistening or exposing the eTicket to any form of liquid.
Do not fold or vandalise.
Lost or stolen eTicket should be reported immediately.
