Who is the Community Card for?

The Community Card works best for NDIS providers, aged care organisations, home care package providers and community transport coordinators. It's ideal for clients who travel regularly to medical appointments and other community activities and cannot use public transport independently.

For other travel needs, Cabcharge has you covered. A Digital Pass or eTicket works well for one-off or occasional travel. The FASTCARD suits staff and frequent business travellers, while a Gift Card covers prepaid travel without a Cabcharge account.

How does the Cabcharge Community Card work?

Getting started is straightforward. Once your Cabcharge account is set up, contact our team with each client's travel requirements and card needs. Cards are personalised in each client's name and delivered via Australia Post to your preferred address. From there:

  1. Your client taps their Community Card on the in-taxi Cabcharge terminal at the end of each trip.
  2. Every fare is recorded in real time and fed directly into Cabcharge+ automatically.
  3. Your team gets a complete, up-to-date picture of every client's travel activity from one central place, with no manual data entry needed.

What spending controls does the Cabcharge Community Card offer?

Through Cabcharge+, you set a monthly allowance for each client's Community Card so travel expenses stay within budget. You get email alerts at 80% and 100% of each client's limit, giving your team early visibility over travel spend before it becomes an issue. If a client exceeds their monthly allowance, the card keeps working so their travel is never interrupted.

On top of that, cost allocations and weekly reports are available through Cabcharge+, so your team always has an accurate, up-to-date picture of each client's expense management across your whole programme.

Does the Cabcharge Community Card work for accessible taxis?

Yes. The Cabcharge Community Card is accepted across our taxi network nationwide, including wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so your clients are covered in every state and territory. It works with major operators like 13cabs, Silver Service and Black & White Cabs, as well as hundreds of regional taxi services across Australia.

Clients can hail a taxi or arrange pickups in advance, giving them the flexibility to travel on their own terms.

Yes. Every Community Card trip generates an itemised digital receipt sent straight to your Cabcharge+ account automatically.
